Frequently Asked Questions
How does the playlist calculator work?
Paste a YouTube playlist URL and we fetch video durations using the YouTube Data API. We show total time at 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, and 2x speeds.
Does it work with long playlists?
Yes. We fetch up to 200 videos per playlist due to API limits. Most educational playlists are well within this limit.
Can I see how many days it will take?
Yes. We show estimated days to complete based on watching 1, 2, or 4 hours per day at each speed.
Do I need an account to use this?
No, this tool is completely free and requires no signup, registration, or YouTube login to use.
Is this calculator accurate?
Yes, we fetch the exact duration of each video directly from the YouTube Data API to calculate the total runtime down to the very last second.
Can I calculate the length of a private playlist?
No, our tool can only access and analyze data from public or unlisted YouTube playlists. Private playlists block API access.
What happens if a video is deleted or private?
Our calculator automatically skips any deleted, private, or age-restricted videos and only calculates the duration of the publicly available, playable content.
Does it work for Watch Later or Liked Videos?
No, "Watch Later" and "Liked Videos" are private system playlists tied specifically to your Google account, so they cannot be read by external tools.
Can I change the daily watching goals?
Currently, the tool calculates completion time based on standard 1, 2, and 4-hour daily benchmarks. We may add custom daily hours in a future update.
Is there a mobile app for this?
We don't have a native mobile app, but this web tool is fully responsive and works perfectly on Safari, Chrome, or any mobile browser.
